Laureate Professor Peter Doherty
Laureate Professor Department of Microbiology and Immunology, University of Melbourne, Department of Immunology at Michael F. Tamer Chair of Biomedical Research & St Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Tennessee. Professor Dogerty shared the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1996 for the discovery of how the immune system recognises virus-infected cells. He is the first person with a veterinary qualification to win a Nobel Prize.
